What is B Seen?
B Seen supports Black artists already in practice who are ready to bring disciplines into conversation, experiment with new possibilities, and develop original work with dedicated time, resources, and support behind them.
No project proposal is required.
WHY APPLY?
$6,000 artist fee
Up to $4,000 flexible project funds
Mentorship + Dramaturgical support
Creative development + public presentation

IS B SEEN FOR YOU?
✓ Identify as Black
✓ 18 or older
✓ Based in the Greater Toronto Area
✓ Applying as an individual artist
✓ Strong text-based practice
✓ Strong in at least one other discipline
✓ Already have completed work behind you
Emerging, mid-career, and established artists are all welcome.

Onboarding: November 23 – December 4, 2026
First Drafts Sharing: January 23–24, 2027
Creative Intensive: Four weeks in spring 2027
Starts no earlier than April 1
Public Presentation: Spring / early summer 2027
